Low carb burger recipe

Low carb burger recipe…  The reason I have to type my recipes…

I love a good hamburger!!!  My favorite hamburger is the hamburger at Callaghan’s in Mobile.  Quaint atmosphere, great food, just the perfect environment for a good time!!!  Here is the link to Callaghan’s.  If you are ever in Mobile…GOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!   http://www.callaghansirishsocialclub.com/  They also have a GREAT Ruben!

So…  We are watching our carbs (and some fat) right now so here is the most delicious “bunless” burger you will ever eat!!!

Low Carb Burger Burger

Not only is it good and good for you…..  It is delicious!!!   I have already said that I LOVE a good burger just as much as anyone.   However, when you are trying to be a little carb conscience and aware of some extra fat…  This is your ticket and here is your burger!!!

Ingredients Lists:

For the burgers:

Aprox 3 lbs. ground sirloin

Olive oil

Worcestershire Sauce

Kosher salt

Coarse ground black pepper

Sliced Sharp Cheddar Cheese

For the Mustard Sauce:

3 TBS Dijon Mustard

1 TBS olive Oil

1tsp (or more) prepared horseradish sauce

For the salad plate:

Plenty of shredded lettuce of your choice.  I used a combo of Butter, Iceberg, and Romaine

Sliced tomatoes, salted and peppered

Thin sliced purple onions

Whole Claussen pickles, sliced hamburger style

Pickled Jalapeño peppers

8 fried eggs ( 1 for each burger)

salt and pepper

Prepare the mustard sauce and set aside until ready to use.

Prepare the salad plate.  Drizzle a little of the mustard sauce on top and set aside until ready to use.

Loosely form the sirloin into patties (should be about 8 burgers).  Don’t over pack them!  I actually make a large “meatball” and divide it into 8 sections.  When you have them into patties, drizzle them with olive oil and worcestershire.   Season each side with salt and pepper.

Prepare a very hot grill…  my husband does this part so I am going to be very vague here…  just prepare a very hot grill and don’t ask me how!!!   Cook them for about two minutes or less ( I hate an over cooked burger)  on each side.  Top with the cheese, cover with a dome until the cheese melts (about a minute) and remove from heat.  Place a burger over a dressed salad plate.  Top with some of the dijon sauce.

Fry an egg…  do I need to tell you how to fry an egg???  Heat a little no stick in a small skillet over high heat …  crack an egg in the skillet… cook it until the whites are opaque….  There ya go!!!  Place it over the burger, salt and pepper!!! There you have a guilt free, absolutely delicious burger with no bun and no carbs!!!!!!!!

Serve and Enjoy!!!
